"The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics." Paul Halmos
I am so lucky that I get to work with both students and teachers at Maple Hill Elementary! I will be helping teachers with new math strategies, programs, and instruction, as well as testing our students. I am also going to support students in their learning of math and improving their skills. I hope to learn and grow with the students and staff of Maple Hill this year too. I am so excited to be here and part of Naugatuck School District!
About Mrs. Butkevich
I became a teacher because I always loved school, my teachers, and learning. I wanted to work with students and help them love school as much as I did. I love the look on students' faces when they get a bright idea or were trying their best and figure out an answer. I love to ask how and why and hear what students have to say. I taught mainly third grade for 8 1/2 years. I loved teaching and understanding math strategies, and became a math coach almost 7 years ago. I recently became a staff member at Maple Hill, and I am so thrilled I made the move to Naugatuck! Maple Hill has an amazing staff and so many students I cannot wait to get to know better.
