Welcome
Welcome to Miss Filakovsky's Kindergarten class! Kindergarten will be a time where students' minds grow immensely! Children will learn how to be part of a community as well as discover the world around them. In Maple Hill, students follow the Five Bee's. We will Be Respectful, Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Peaceful, and Be Cooperative. I am looking forward to an amazing year at Maple Hill!
About Me
I was born and raised a couple towns over in Shelton, Connecticut. My love of learning began in elementary school where I had a memorable educational experience. My teachers instilled a love of learning deep within me, that I carry with me always. After graduating High School, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to become a teacher. I attended Southern Connecticut State University where I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in both Elementary Education and History. I then went on to receive my Master's Degree from Southern Connecticut State University in Reading.
When I am not at school, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my family. I can also be found hiking, working out, reading, cooking, gardening, or learning about history. I also love to go on adventures and find new places to see. My favorite places I have traveled to so far are Ireland and Costa Rica. Life is too short to not explore the world around you!
I am very lucky to teach at Maple Hill. The students, families, and staff make me look forward to coming into work each day! The relationships that I am able to develop hold a special place in my heart. At Maple Hill our students come first, which is how every school should be.
