School meal pickup times expanded

Good morning,

Starting today, Thursday September 10, 2020 distance learner meal pick up will be changing to expand pick-up times.
  • City Hill Middle School cafe in the lower parking lot will be open for pick up from 8 am to 9 am and 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.
  • Naugatuck High School in front of the auditorium will be open for pick up from 11:15 am to 12:45 pm
Please note that Naugatuck Public Schools has been given temporary permission by the USDA to provide breakfast and lunch to any child 18 and under even if they are not registered in Naugatuck Schools. If the child is unable to come in person to get their meals only the child's parent or guardian can pick it up for them.

All students that attend Naugatuck Public Schools can get 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch daily at school during the school year.

What do you have to do?
  • You do not have to pay any money or fill out a free/reduced lunch application for the students that are enrolled Naugatuck Public Schools.
  • If you are enrolled in Naugatuck Public Schools but are distance learning you are also eligible.
  • If you have children that attend schools in other school districts you will need to fill out a free/reduced lunch application for them and return it to their school, not Naugatuck.
What is a breakfast meal? 
Your child may receive only 1 breakfast daily. The breakfast meal is an entrée, fruit, milk and juice.

What is a lunch meal? 
Your child may receive only 1 lunch daily. Lunch is 1 entrée, fruit, veggies and a milk. In order for the meal to be free your child must take a fruit or veggie with their meal.

Our school is getting free meals for all students as part of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) through a choice for schools called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
